Vestibular Dysfunction/Vertigo
Vestibular Dysfunction refers to disorders affecting balance and spatial orientation, commonly due to inner ear problems such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) or vestibular neuritis. Physical therapy, specifically vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT), includes gaze stabilization, balance training, and habituation exercises to improve coordination and reduce dizziness. Dry needling may be used to treat cervicogenic dizziness by releasing tight neck muscles, improving cervical spine mobility, and reducing abnormal sensory input to the brain.
